Saudi Arabia arrests 116 government officials in anti-corruption crackdown

Saudi Arabian authorities have arrested 116 government officials as part of an ongoing anti-corruption campaign aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability across the public sector, according to official statements.
The arrests were carried out following investigations into alleged cases of bribery, abuse of power, forgery and misuse of public funds. Those detained reportedly include employees from various government departments, with cases referred to relevant judicial authorities for further legal action.
The Kingdom’s oversight bodies said the latest crackdown reflects the leadership’s continued commitment to combating corruption and safeguarding public resources. Officials reiterated that no individual is above the law and that strict measures will be taken against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing, regardless of rank or position.
Saudi Arabia has intensified anti-corruption efforts in recent years as part of broader reforms under Vision 2030, which seeks to improve governance, boost investor confidence and enhance the efficiency of state institutions.
Authorities urged citizens and residents to report suspected corruption through official channels, stressing that protecting public funds and upholding integrity remain national priorities.
