Umm Al Quwain Police announce road closures ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations

Umm Al Quwain Police have announced a series of road closures and traffic diversions across the emirate ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations, urging motorists to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with authorities to ensure public safety.
According to the police, the measures will be implemented as part of a comprehensive traffic and security plan designed to manage increased vehicle movement and large crowds expected at waterfront areas, public beaches, and popular viewing spots. Key roads leading to celebration venues will be temporarily closed from the evening of December 31 until the early hours of January 1.
Police said alternative routes will be clearly signposted, and traffic patrols will be deployed at major intersections to guide motorists and ease congestion. Public transport users have been advised to follow official updates for any service adjustments during the celebrations.
Authorities also emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules, avoiding illegal parking, and following instructions from police officers on duty. Motorists were reminded not to stop on roads or bridges to watch fireworks, as this could pose serious safety risks.
Umm Al Quwain Police added that emergency services will be on high alert throughout the night, with coordination between police, civil defense, and ambulance services to respond swiftly to any incidents.
Residents and visitors have been encouraged to check official social media channels for real-time updates on road conditions and closures, and to celebrate responsibly as the emirate welcomes the New Year.
