The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack targeting a joint US-Syria patrol in the historic city of Palmyra, Syria, reaffirming its commitment to international efforts against terrorism.
In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a “cowardly act aimed at destabilising the region” and expressed solidarity with the United States and Syrian authorities in their fight against extremist groups. The ministry emphasized that such attacks undermine regional security and hinder the ongoing efforts to achieve peace and stability in Syria.
The attack, which took place near Palmyra — a city known for its cultural heritage and strategic significance — reportedly involved an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting the patrol. While preliminary reports indicate that casualties were limited, the UAE stressed the importance of bringing those responsible to justice.
The UAE reiterated its support for international cooperation to combat terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms, emphasizing the need for a coordinated response to ensure the protection of civilians and the preservation of peace in conflict-affected regions.
This condemnation reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to regional security and its stance against acts of terror that threaten stability in the Middle East.
