AI Alliance Network expands globally with launch of landmark report

The Alliance, founded in December 2024, now includes 28 organizations from 21 countries after recently adding 11 new member associations and research institutes from Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Its member base comprises academic centres, technology groups, trade associations, and research institutes committed to advancing AI through collaboration, transparency and shared standards.

At the recent meeting during the conference AI Journey 2025 held in Moscow, the Alliance released the AI Horizons report — a major global research endeavour mapping the future of AI with wide international participation.

The report is based on contributions from over 270 researchers across 36 countries, integrating diverse scientific perspectives for the first time at this scale.

It involved a series of 21 strategic sessions and 32 expert‑interviews. The findings and projections in the report have been presented by researchers from countries including Russia, China, India, Serbia and Vietnam.

The report is now published in multiple languages — including English, Russian and Chinese — to ensure broader accessibility and foster inclusive global dialogue.

The alliance emphasizes a collective, global approach — arguing that previously, AI research and scenario‑building was often dominated by a few institutions or countries (mainly Western academic centres), which potentially left many regions behind. The Alliance sees AI Horizons as a step to change that by embedding diversity of knowledge, cultures, and values.

According to one of the Alliance’s senior members, the project shows that “science has no borders,” and that AI development should reflect input from across the world — promoting more equitable, inclusive and representative AI futures.

The expansion and this report position the Alliance as a major platform for collaborative AI research and governance in a truly global context — potentially influencing how AI is developed, regulated, and applied worldwide.
